I'm not at work! - this is rather let down by not having a job to go to, but allows gardening.

I won two prizes in a raffle! - one, a basket of vanilla goodies, has been delivered, the other is tickets to the ballet in November, which I am giving to my mother.

Daughter seems to be feeling better since she has to look after me feeling all low and un-needed. - there is a silver lining in everything.

I used the waterproof housing for my camera. It was very hard to let it get wet, but I did and once I'd dropped it in the sea I felt much better about using it. The problem is the dire warnings, about how leaks can ruin your camera, in the instructions. Second thoughts say that the camera itself is splash proof, one of the reasons I chose it, so even if the housing leaks a little it's going to be alright.

I rang up about a job today and was told that, although they were interviewing this week, they would accept an application and if they didn't have anyone suitable in this round would consider it. A little later they rang back and asked me if I could make it to an interview. Um, I haven't applied yet! But, yes!

The printer says its toner is low. I printed out a full status and calculated that at the present rate of use it will be empty in about 12 months. We have an HP 4100 which is overkill for a home printer, but appeals to the engineer in me. I impulse bought a second paper tray for it on ebay while researching toner costs. It came today, I have installed it and I don't think best beloved has noticed it.

My camera's battery cover latch snapped, but I bought a dead camera of the same model off ebay and took it apart. This was a very springy and frustrating - Oh! *That* screw! - experience, but meant I could take the broken cover off my camera and replace it. It cost £4 more than an estimate of repair costs would have done from Olympus, but was much faster even allowing for buying and waiting for the donor camera, more fun, and leaves me with spare cables, cards, batteries and chargers for when I can't find mine.
