Punctured

All I did was drop in at the doctor's, on the way to work, to leave a repeat prescription request. I thought I'd ask about Hep B immunisation since last week's first aid course recommended it.

Mistake. "The nurse could see you in five minutes" says the receptionist, "Save you coming back later."
And I said "Okay."

So, a little less than the promised five minutes, the nurse calls me into her room. Coincidentally she's been asked to contact me to get me in have a blood test. Guess what? I could save time and have it now.

I don't part with blood willingly. It takes her about 10 minutes to find a vein and that's in my right arm. It takes another 4 minutes to persuade enough to leak out. And then I get the jab in my left arm with instructions to wait for 10 more minutes in case I react badly.

So I'm not in the best of moods when I get to work.
