Usenet still amuses me. cam.misc is an intimate mixture of local gossip, puns, punctuation wars and squabbling though rec.arts.drwho has just about hit rock bottom. Although I did break down and post a response, I suspect I’m about to delete it from my newsreader.
The plastics recycling box and contents are making a bid for freedom past the window. I’m not going out there now as the storm promised last night has arrived.

‘Nother rejection, but only my pride is hurt as I think they wanted a suit wearer. The job description, which IMO described what they needed, described a practical administrator.
There are three jobs at the local college I’d be interested in. Now, how do I apply for all three without appearing desperate? Even worse, two of them are in the same department and would probably be read by the same people. And two more in other organisations.
Rain has slowed down; better go to retrieve the plastic.
