Stayed in a 15th century guest house with alarming plumbing, wiring and bed.
Swam in the north sea and lazed on the beach.  Found another piece of amber, that's two in one year, my luck has turned.

Most satisfactory.

Removing sand from washing machine, dealing with post and finding friends' list  at skip =406; less so.

Parcel from Amazon.jp Yay! Textbooks for less, including shipping, than buying them here and maybe a little manga.
Now I just have to hope that the class is running.

Tonight Jeremy Paxman asked 8 students what "K" and "S" stood for in slash fiction, defined as a branch of science fiction, published in fanzines, about Startrek.(1)

My daughter sniggered. I tried to keep a straight face. The young women said nothing. Eventually one man volunteered the answer "Kirk and Spock".

What I want to know is, did they know and not want to admit it on national television, or are our students so innocent?

They could be; University Challenge is the show where once one student, to the question "What is the study of friction called?" replied "frottage".

(1) Reported from memory; a pointer to the inevitable youtube would be appreciated.
