Feb. 28th, 2007 10:03 pmThere's been a superb halo round the moon for the last two nights. I tried to take pictures but failed to get anything worthwhile. It looks as though hiding the bright light source behind some architecture was the right idea though. See these examples by a photographer who can get it right.
And there's going to be a lunar eclipse on Saturday - Sunday night. Visible in Europe with maximum half an hour before midnight GMT. Partial eclipse visible at moonrise in the Americas and at moon set in East Asia.
The solar eclipse two weeks later is only visible in Alaska and the edge of Asia.
