The Stars!
Aug. 12th, 2009 08:38 amDaughter and I took camping mats and blankets into the back garden and stayed out watching the sky till just before midnight when the moon made it too bright. There is city (small city) light pollution but we found our favoured spot where trees and buildings hide the street lamps.
So half a dozen perseids, 3 erratics, more satellites than we bothered to count with two superb flares and one "Wow did you see that?" half sky spanning, persistent trail, bigger than I've ever seen erratic.
So, good job we were watching for perseids than.
