Panic Panic..

I've spent all day trying to fill in application form.

Just download, fill in, and email back. Hah!

I even resorted to ringing the human resources department and confessing that I couldn't fill it in. I opened and saved in various formats. I even down loaded Open Office and tried in that.

Okay so it was created in Word 2003. Ring best beloved in a panic. He snags it and saves in Word 97 format and sends to me. Also suggest I try his laptop with later version of Word.

Stupid document is full of hard spaces which won't delete so the form expands as I type leaving white space just as it was when I started.

Much discussion about the folly of using the latest versions of software.

Eureka! It's protected, sod it. It doesn't have a password!! I can type!!!

I can't tick the tick boxes. I can tick the boxes if I reprotect it.

I conclude that the protected areas were not set up correctly. It's another job application initiative test.

I predict I will be typing all night. At least I'll be typing.
