Even better, they were originally published in an English newspaper. Why didn’t I know about this? Well, because I didn’t read the London Evening news as a child, but still…. They should be in the UL and I think I’m safe to renew my reader's card now.
There’s no problem renewing my card. I just have to turn up, once every five years or so, whilst the admissions office is open, and call at reception. The problem is that, somehow, I got the renewal date in sync with the new intake of undergraduates. The glare from 200 18-year olds, patiently waiting in line at the time they were told to, as someone is sent to the head of the queue, is unforgettable. It’s clearly seared into my brain.
My interview yesterday made me want the job even more. The taxi overestimated the time to get there, so not only was I not ready when it arrived to collect me, I got there 35 minutes early. It’s a small new department so it’s going to hang on who the department head thinks he can work with. I expect everyone interviewed could do the job at least competently. Why does the human mind fret over things it can’t affect? All I can do now is wait.
And spotted just as I came to post this, doujinshi for sale. But, but, $70 plus postage? It’s a recent collection available from Amazon.jp at Ұ924. Even with Ұ1450 shipping that’s only $25 at the most. Still, I’m now registered with Amazon.jp and have a growing wish list.
