Stayed up last night to watch for leonids with
vomit_bunny.
We sat in a beach tent, swathed with blankets and gazed at the sky. Leonids are fast and leave a distinct trail. They're noticeably different to the Persiads.
I napped in the small hours and watched again from 4 ish. If I'd been inside you wouldn't have got me out again, but since I already was it was easy. Since Leo was a lot higher we were able to lie down to watch till dawn.
Had another session this evening since a high rate was predicted for 20-22 UTC, but didn't see anything. There was too much light around and the radiant was below the horizon. Still it would have been spectacular with stars falling up if there had been any to see.
I need some sleep.
